Hey Indy friends! 🐶 Rolo here — your four-legged friend from Window Depot of Indianapolis, back with your April lineup. And let me tell you… spring has officially arrived, which means longer walks, open windows, and plenty of reasons to get out of the house (or at least convince your humans to).
April in Indy is stacked with events so whether you’re looking for family fun, a night out, or just an excuse to enjoy the warmer weather, I’ve got you covered. Let’s dig in! 🐾
xZOOberance
April 1st–19th | Indianapolis Zoo
Kicking things off, xZOOberance, the zoo’s spring festival, is back and bringing some much-needed energy after a long Indiana winter. Enjoy vibrant blooms, animals, family fun, and seasonal treats throughout the zoo during this outdoor celebration. It’s a perfect spring break destination and a great way for Indy families to get outside and enjoy the season together.

EGGnormous Egg Hunt
April 4th | Lions Park
Alright Indy, this one’s for the early risers and the treat hunters. The EGGnormous Egg Hunt lives up to its name with thousands of eggs, prizes, and plenty of excitement for the kids. I’ve been told I’m not allowed to participate (apparently I’d find everything too fast), but I fully support supervising from a distance. 🐶🥚

500 Festival 10-Miler
April 11th | Downtown Indianapolis
Indy’s racing spirit isn’t just for cars. The 500 Festival 10-Miler is one of the city’s biggest running events, bringing together seasoned runners, first-timers, and plenty of spectators. Whether you’re hitting the pavement or cheering from the sidelines, it’s one of those classic Indy traditions that always brings great energy to the city. I’ll be near the finish line… mostly cheering, partially scouting for snacks.

Clue
April 14th–19th | Old National Centre
Was it Colonel Mustard in the library… or Rolo with the bone? 🕵️♂️ The classic board game comes to life with Clue on stage, bringing mystery, comedy, and a little bit of chaos to Indy. It’s a great pick for a fun night out, especially if you enjoy a good whodunit.

Indy Film Fest
April 22nd–26th | Kan-Kan Cinema & Dance Kaleidoscope
Film lovers, this one’s for you. Indy Film Fest showcases a mix of independent films, documentaries, and creative storytelling from both local and national filmmakers. It’s one of those events that feels very Indy — creative, community-driven, and a great way to experience something new.

Frühlingsfest
April 23rd–26th | Guggman Haus Brewing Co.
We’re wrapping up the month with Frühlingsfest — a spring celebration filled with German food, music, and good vibes all around. Often called the “spring sister festival” to Oktoberfest, it brings that same lively atmosphere, just with a little more sunshine and a lot of fresh spring energy. If you’ve never been, expect great eats, cold drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for hanging out with friends and family. I hear there’s plenty of bratwurst… so I’ll definitely be nearby.
