Hey Indy friends — Rolo here again! 🐾
Summer officially showed up, which means I’ve been spending a lot more time with the windows open, riding shotgun with Dottie, and sniffing around town for the best local events coming up this June. And honestly? Indy does not slow down once summer hits. So grab your walking shoes (and maybe a pup cup for the road) because here’s what’s worth checking out around Indy this June!
Free First Friday Block Party
June 5th | Downtown Indy
Nothing says summer in Indy quite like a good First Friday event. This free block party brings together local artists, music, food, and plenty of community energy to kick off the weekend. These are the kinds of nights that remind you why summer around Indy is so much fun — people out walking around, music playing, and everyone just enjoying the city.

Indiana Comic Convention
June 5th–7th | Indiana Convention Center
Calling all comic book fans, gamers, movie lovers, and cosplay pros — Indiana Comic Convention is back this June. Expect celebrity guests, panels, collectibles, gaming, and costumes everywhere you look. I tried convincing Dottie that I should go dressed as Scooby-Doo, but apparently “already being a dog” doesn’t count as cosplay.

Broad Ripple Duck Race & 5K
June 6th | Broad Ripple
This might officially be one of the most Indy events ever created… thousands of rubber ducks racing down the canal while people run a 5K nearby. The Broad Ripple Duck Race & 5K is always a fun neighborhood event with plenty of energy, local support, and a good excuse to spend the day outside. Plus, as a dog, I feel obligated to point out that chasing ducks is basically in our job description… even if these ones are rubber. 🐶🦆

Indiana High School All-Stars
June 6th | Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Basketball in Indiana during the summer? Of course. The Indiana High School All-Stars game is one of those traditions that Hoosiers always show up for. It’s a chance to see some of the best high school talent in the state hit the court before heading off to the next level. Even I know basketball season never truly ends around here.

The Underground Railroad Tour
June 17th | Crown Hill Cemetery
If you’re looking for something meaningful and educational this month, The Underground Railroad Tour offers a chance to learn more about Indiana’s important role in history. It’s a unique way to connect with stories and places right here in our community that helped shape the state we know today. Definitely one of those events that reminds you Indy has a lot of history tucked into it if you slow down long enough to explore.

Talbot Street Art Fair
June 20th–21st | Talbott Street
This one’s a longtime Indy favorite. The Talbot Street Art Fair brings artists from all over to one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city. You’ll find paintings, photography, jewelry, sculptures, and enough food vendors to keep everyone happy. Honestly, it’s the perfect excuse to spend a summer afternoon outside wandering around with an iced coffee in hand. Plus, I hear there are usually lots of dogs attending, which means excellent networking opportunities for me.
