Ward’s Window on Indy in August!
Hey neighbors,
We’ve made it to August—and while back-to-school season might be creeping up, summer fun isn’t done just yet. This month is packed with iconic Indy events that make me extra proud to call this city home. Whether you’re here for the music, the festivals, or just looking to enjoy some great eats (no judgment!), there’s something for everyone. Here’s what I’ve got circled on my calendar:
Indiana State Fair
August 1–17 | Indiana State Fairgrounds
This one’s a summer staple. Where else can you see prize-winning pigs, ride a Ferris wheel, and eat deep-fried…well, everything? Whether you’re reliving childhood memories or making new ones with the family, the fair is classic Indy fun.

Drum Corps International World Championships
August 7–9 | Lucas Oil Stadium
If you’ve never experienced the pure power of DCI live, trust me—it’s unforgettable. The best drum and bugle corps in the world descend on the stadium for a weekend of precision, passion, and pageantry. Even if you’re not a band nerd (no shame if you are!), you’ll walk out with goosebumps.

Wicket World of Croquet
August 9 | Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site
This one’s got charm written all over it. Wicket World of Croquet brings lawn games, garden-party vibes, and vintage flair together for a uniquely Indy experience. Dress in your preppiest whites and swing a mallet for a good cause!

IndyFringe Festival
August 14–24 | Mass Ave Theaters
Two words: wild creativity. IndyFringe takes over the city with offbeat theater, experimental performances, comedy, and everything in between. If you’re up for seeing something totally unexpected—and supporting local artists while you’re at it—this is your playground.

Indy GreekFest
August 22-23 | Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral
Opa! This is your one-day ticket to Greece—without leaving 40th and Pennsylvania. Think gyros, spanakopita, baklava, and traditional Greek dancing under the stars. Come hungry, stay for the music, and maybe leave with a new favorite pastry.

Feast of Lanterns
August 23 | Spades Park
Few things are more beautiful than hundreds of lanterns lighting up the night sky—and Indy’s Feast of Lanterns is pure magic. This century-old neighborhood tradition brings together art, music, and community in one of our city’s most beloved parks. It’s the kind of night that reminds you why Indy feels like home.

There’s no doubt about it—August is serving up some seriously good reasons to get out and explore. I hope to see you at one (or all) of these events!
And hey, if your windows have been steaming up in the summer humidity or rattling during the latest thunderstorm, it might be time to chat. At Window Depot of Indianapolis, we make replacement window shopping easy, with honest advice from neighbors who care about your home as much as you do.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, Indy. Let’s make it count.
